This beautiful black bird has the unfortunate name of Spangled Drongo (Dicrurus bracteatus). It's a migratory bird and can be found in many parts of the world. This one chooses to spend a large part of the year in this region of the Northern Rivers.
It is easily identified by it's unusual long 'forked' tail, it's beautiful glossy plummage and shiny 'spangles' on it's chest.
